Africa - Vision

"...the challenges of eradicating poverty in
Africa can be addressed through education and.... ICT in education is a fundamental tool for ridding Africa of ignorance, poverty and disease."
Minister for Education, Kenya Hon. Prof George Saitoti, EGH, M.P., Nairobi, 2007

Studytech's vision is to be an effective partner in development through trade in ICT goods and services. With the right policies and partnerships, we can ensure ICT is a powerful enabler of communities throughout the developing world, enhancing the learning process by enabling increased access to knowledge and more collaborative and interactive learning techniques.

In addition to corporate philanthropy, there are many commercially viable business opportunities in Africa for innovative companies that contribute both to sustainable development and their own commercial success.

This is confirmed by OECD data released In 2006, showing foreign investment in Africa reached USD$48 billion, overtaking aid for the first time, signalling that business, not aid is now Africa's main source of foreign income.

Economic development for Africa requires a mix of economic reforms, good governance, aid and private sector investments. Aid helps to improve physical infrastructure (safe water, roads), on which the private sector can thrive and contribute to long lasting development.
